The Dwarfling Arrives

Welcome to Adventures of the Dwarfling.

I am Fannon, World of Warcraft player, writer of the blog Dwarven Battle Medic and a brand new father. My wife calls me Brad.

In the weeks leading up to the birth of my daughter Teagan, I began tweeting about the pregnancy and my excitement and trepidations about becoming a father. While doing so I started referring to my pending bundle of responsibility as The Dwarfling, which caught on and created a very tiny meme within the subset of the Twitterverse that consists of Baby-crazed, Blog-reading, WoW players. I was surprised at just how much interest and support there was out there, and when The Dwarfling was born everyone wanted to see pics and hear about her.

This floored me. To this day I am still shocked at how curious people are.  I mean, babies are born everyday, right?

My other blog, Dwarven Battle Medic is a fairly new blog about World of Warcraft and it has been getting a very steady and increasing amount of traffic. When I posted this article, however, the activity exploded. It has become by far my most popular post in terms of both comments and pageviews; beating the next closest by more than double.

The last thing that I wanted to do is to make Battle Medic a baby blog, so I decided to create The Dwarfling Adventures: a place to post pictures and stories of her adventures in the world.

I don’t really know what this blog is going to be in the end. It’s going to be personal. It’s going to be about her. I’m hoping it will give me a chance to flex my writing muscles in a different way than Battle Medic has. And if nothing else, it will give people a chance to ooooo and awwww at her dwarfly cuteness.

The Dwarfling, Teagan, fresh from being ripped from her mother. You can still see the bruising from the forcepts.
